About GERD, H. and other serious gastrointestinal disorders
GERD (Crohn's disease) is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease caused by the excessive production of intestinal bacterial cells in the colon. It can cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as bloating, gas, diarrhea and a high frequency of heartburn. GERD is often the first symptom of a chronic disease, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and it is treated with medications that relieve symptoms.
