How it works:

When you take a drug called Nexium or Prilosec it increases the amount of a drug it contains in your body. This helps to relieve pain and/or itching.

The drug is used to treat pain and inflammation of a number of conditions including the following:

• Acid reflux or heartburn
• Heartburn
• Headache
• Nausea

Nexium and Prilosec are the same substance, and work by reducing stomach acid produced by the stomach. Nexium is used to treat acid reflux or heartburn and Prilosec is used to treat heartburn.

You should take the following regularly with Nexium or Prilosec:

• Take one capsule with a glass of water, at least 30 minutes before eating a high-fat meal, if you feel you need to take this

If you take Nexium or Prilosec and have an allergy to:

• any of the ingredients in the product

Nexium 24HR Once Daily Dosing Tablets are used in the management of frequent heartburn (heartburn that occurs more than 1 week after a single large, frequent, hard, pebior one). They are also used in the management of acid reflux disease as well as for the prevention of ulcers. Nexium 24HR Once Daily Dosing Tablets contain the active ingredient esomeprazole 20mg, which is also used to treat GERD and ulcers, as well as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Active Ingredient

• Esomeprazole 20mg
• 10mg Film-coated Tablet
• 4 x 20mg Tablets (2 Pack)
• 5 x 20mg Tablets (4 Pack)

Directions for Use:

• Adults and children over 12 years: Take 1 tablet daily for 2 weeks, then gradually increase to 2 tablets every 3 days.
• Children under 12 years: Take 1 tablet daily for 2 weeks, then gradually increase to 2 tablets every 3 days.
• Avoid taking with dairy products (like milk, yogurt) or antacids (like calcium, iron, or magnesium). They can decrease the amount of acid produced by the stomach.
• For adults and children over 12 years, take 1 capsule per day.

Warnings

Do Not Use:

• If you have a stomach ulcer, Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome, or if you have ever had an allergic reaction to esomeprazole or any other medicine.
• If you have a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in this product.
• If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding, do not use this product or take it if you have or have had a stomach ulcer, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, or if you are breast-feeding.
• If the expiry date printed on the pack has passed.
• If you have heartburn that is persistent or recurring, stop taking Nexium 24HR Once Daily Dosing and call your doctor right away if the condition returns or gets worse.
• If you are taking antacids for acid regurgitation (such as Kaolathiazole or Zollinger-Ellison) or for ulcers (such as Ulceracontin), take them every day for 1 to 2 days.
• If the expiry date printed on the pack has passed, the packaging is torn or shows signs of tampering.
• If the product is for one or more menstrual periods or if you are having menstrual blood disorders, notify your doctor or pharmacist.
• While using this product, if the expiry date printed on the pack has passed, the product has not left the body for a week or longer.
• While using this product for more than 1 week, the symptoms of acid reflux may return or worsen. If you think you are ready to lose weight, contact you doctor.

Precautions:

• If any of the following apply to you:
• You are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding or taking other measures to reduce the risk of serious side effects: Take one tablet daily for 2 weeks, then gradually increase to 2 tablets every 3 days.
• You are aged over 18 years, have a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in this product.
• You are taking other medications that may interact with esomeprazole, including antacids, anticonvulsants, digoxin, digoxin or diuretics, quinapril, antiretrovirals, blood thinners, medications for high blood pressure, medications for the treatment of heart disease, prescription or non-prescription medicines, or herbal supplements.
